The Boston University men's lacrosse team will continue the 2022 season on Saturday when the No. 16/15 Terriers travel to Lehigh. Opening faceoff is set for 3 p.m.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU is the lone unbeaten team in the Patriot League after its 14-9 triumph at Loyola Maryland last weekend.
- The Terriers can clinch the program's first Patriot League regular-season title and the top seed in the conference tournament with a win at Lehigh and an Army West Point loss; the Black Knights face Navy on Saturday at noon.
- If both BU and Army win on Saturday, the two teams will meet for the regular-season crown on Friday, April 29, at Nickerson Field.
- Junior Louis Perfetto keyed the Terrier offense at Loyola, securing career highs in both assists (6) and points (8).
- Senior Timmy Ley extended his NCAA-best goal scoring streak to 34 games with a hat trick, which included his 100th career goal.
- Junior Vince D'Alto extended his goal scoring streak to 25 game by finding the back of the net three times as part of a four-point afternoon.
- BU is one of just two schools in all of Division I men's lacrosse that boasts three players (D'Alto, Ley, Perfetto) with at least 20 goals and 20 assists.
- Junior Roy Meyer now owns the single-season program record for caused turnovers with 36 and counting, surpassing Reece Eddy's mark of 34 caused turnovers in 2019.
- Meyer broke the record with three caused turnovers against Loyola.
SERIES HISTORY
- The Terriers haven't faced Lehigh since May 3, 2019, when the Terriers suffered a hard-fought 10-9 setback in the Patriot League semifinals in Baltimore.
- BU and Lehigh also met in Bethlehem that season, with the Mountain Hawks earning a 10-8 win.
- Five of the eight games between the two schools have been decided by two goals or fewer.
- The Terriers' lone win over Lehigh was a 10-4 triumph at Nickerson Field in the 2017 Patriot League quarterfinals.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAIN HAWKS
- Lehigh suffered its first conference loss of the season at Colgate on Saturday, falling to the Raiders, 9-8, in overtime.
- Tommy Schelling leads Lehigh in both assists (27) and points (44) while Christian Mule' paces the Mountain Hawks with 26 goals.
- Mike Sisselberger ranks second in the nation in both faceoff win percentage at .669 (174-of-260) and ground balls per game (9.64).
- Teddy Leggett leads Lehigh with 20 caused turnovers and is second on the squad with 45 ground balls.
- Goalkeeper James Spence has started all 11 games for the Mountain Hawks, posting a 9.59 goals-against average and a .521 save percentage.
