CALGARY, Alta. – Boston University women's ice hockey alumnae Victoria Bach and Marie-Philip Poulin were named to Team Canada's IIHF Women's World Championship roster, Hockey Canada announced Monday.
This is the third straight year the duo will be on Canada's IIHF roster and marks Poulin's 10th overall appearance at an IIHF Women's World Championship. Both were members of the 2021 Worlds gold medal-winning team and skated on the same line throughout the tournament.
Most recently, Poulin helped Canada to gold at the 2022 Olympics with the game-winning goal to achieve her third career Olympic gold medal. She also made history as the first hockey player to score in four Olympic gold medal games.
Bach made her World Championship debut in 2021. She tallied two assists and was plus-7 to make an impressive mark on the Worlds stage.
Poulin and Bach join Team USA's Jesse Compher as representatives for BU at this year's IIHF Women's World Championship. The tournament is set to take place Aug. 25-Sept. 4 in Denmark.
