HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a slow start to the game, Northeastern got on the board after a loose puck was gathered off a rebound and put in the net at the 13:11 mark.
- With momentum in BU's favor thanks to a power-play chance moments later, Foulem scored the equalizer with a shot that snuck in near the right post with help from Healey and Yuhn just after the penalty expired.
- BU went on the power play again midway through the second period, but nothing came of the chance.
- With just over a minute left in the second, graduate student Nadia Mattivi went to the box for holding.
- The Huskies converted on the woman-up opportunity with 35 seconds left in the period to take a 2-1 lead.
- The Terriers picked up some momentum after successfully killing two penalties early in the final frame.
- BU pulled Pietersen to add an extra skater with 1:14 to go, but it was Northeastern that would capitalize on an empty-net goal.
- With Pietersen back in net, the Huskies added another goal with four seconds left to bring the final score to 4-1.
