Terriers to Open Home-and-Home with UNH on Friday at WBA

BOSTON - Riding a four-game win streak, the Boston University women's ice hockey team will continue Hockey East play on Friday (Nov. 10) when it opens up a home-and-home series against New Hampshire at Walter Brown Arena. Game time is set for 6 p.m.

The Terriers will visit the Wildcats on Saturday (Nov. 11) at 3 p.m. in a game that will be televised on NESN.

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • This is BU's longest win streak since it closed out the 2019-20 regular season with four straight wins to cap an eight game unbeaten streak (7-0-1).
  • The Terriers will look for a fifth consecutive victory after sweeping Merrimack in a home-and-home series last weekend. 
  • BU won both contests in overtime against the Warriors with game-winners from seniors Catherine Foulem and Tamara Giaquinto
  • Senior Lacey Martin scored her first career hat trick in the victory Saturday and was named Hockey East Co-Player of the Week. 
  • Martin (6g, 1a) and sophomore Clara Yuhn (1g, 6a) share the team lead in points at seven.
  • The Terriers' power play ranks third among Hockey East teams at 20.8 percent, while their penalty kill ranks second at 87 percent. 
  • Martin and senior Andi Calderone are tied for the team lead in plus-minus at +5.
  • Graduate goaltender Alexa Matses started both games last weekend and currently has a .918 save percentage and a 1.65 goals-against-average. 


SCOUTING THE WILDCATS

  • New Hampshire has dropped four of its last five games and is coming off a weekend split against Providence with each team winning on the road.
  • The Wildcats are currently tied for third in Hockey East with a 3-4-1 record. 
  • Junior Kira Juodikis leads the Wildcats in both points (9) and goals (6) this season. 
  • Junior Marina Alvarez leads all Hockey East defenders in points this season with eight (2g, 6a).
  • Freshman Sedona Blair has started all 12 games for the Wildcats and currently has a .913 save percentage and a 2.42 goals-against average.


SERIES HISTORY VS. NEW HAMPSHIRE

  • The Terriers are 37-18-6 all-time against New Hampshire, including a 20-8-2 record at Walter Brown Arena and a 16-9-4 record at the Whittemore Center. 
  • ​​​​​​​BU is 14-3-3 in the past 20 meetings. 
  • Last season, the teams split a home-and-home weekend on Oct. 14-15 with the road team winning each game before the Terriers took the series with a 3-1 home victory on Jan. 21.
