June 21, 2023

Donnie Howard of the Boston University men's lacrosse team will represent Australia at the upcoming 2023 World Lacrosse Championship, which begins on June 21 in San Diego, California.

Australia, which finished fourth at the 2018 World Championship, will compete in Pool A with the defending champion United States, Canada, Haudenosaunee and England. The Australians will open pool play on June 22 against England. Australia will then face Team USA (June 23), Canada (June 24) and Haudenosaunee (June 26). All 107 games of the 2023 World Lacrosse Championship will be streamed on ESPN+; direct links for each of Australia's pool games are below.

Howard was a four-year standout for the Terriers as one of their top defensive midfielders. In 42 career games, Howard recorded 12 caused turnovers and 29 ground balls in addition to six goals and six assists for 12 points. He notched a career-best three assists in 13 games this season and set career highs for both ground balls (18) and caused turnovers (7) last year to help lead BU to its first-ever Patriot League title.

In addition to Howard, former Terrier assistant coach Max Silberlicht will serve as Israel's head coach. SIlberlicht coached the Terrier defense for three seasons (2018-20) and has been head coach of Israel's men's national team since 2019.
