Program-Record Six Terriers Earn USILA Scholar All-America Accolades
June 30, 2023 | Men's Lacrosse
BOSTON - A program-record six members of the Boston University men's lacrosse team were selected as USILA Scholar All-Americans, as announced this week.
Graduate student Jett Dziama joined seniors Conor Calderone, Vince D'Alto, Roy Meyer, Thomas Niedringhaus and Louis Perfetto in receiving this prestigious recognition. No other school boasted more Scholar All-Americans than BU which doubled its previous high of three Scholar All-Americans set in both 2022 and 2020.
D'Alto and Meyer, both two-time All-Americans, are the fourth and fifth Terriers to earn both All-America and Scholar All-America accolades, adding their names to an elite list that includes Matt Garber (2022), Reece Eddy (2020) and Christian Carson-Banister (2017). A player can only be named a Scholar All-American once in their career, doing so as either a senior or a graduate student.
A Scholar All-American must be nominated by his coach and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. He will have behaved in a manner that has brought credit to himself, his institution and to college lacrosse both on and off the field. He must also be an All-American, a member of a North/South team, or an outstanding league or conference player.
All six of the Terriers' Scholar All-Americans have been key contributors to the Terriers' back-to-back Patriot League regular-season championships and 2022 Patriot League tournament title, with each Terrier earning either All-Patriot League or All-New England honors over the last two seasons.
