Field Hockey Drops 3-0 Road Contest Against New Hampshire

DURHAM, N.H. – The Boston University field hockey team dropped a 3-0 contest at New Hampshire on Sunday afternoon at Memorial Field.
The Wildcats scored twice in the second quarter and added another in the opening minute of the final quarter.
BU moves to 6-8 on the year while UNH improves to 7-8.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- BU had the better of the play in the opening quarter and had the only two corners of the frame but was unable to generate a scoring chance from them.
- The Wildcats opened the scoring early in the second quarter when Brecken Calcari intercepted a restart pass and found Tasmin Cookman, who got a touch on the ball before sending an elevated shot to the left boards at 16:56.
- The home team doubled its lead less than three minutes later when Kathelijne Knuttel collected a rebound in front and sent it in at 19:21.
- Knuttel added another goal in the opening minute of the fourth quarter with a blast from the top of the circle off a corner.
GAME NOTES
- UNH held a 16-11 advantage in shots and earned eight corners while allowing four.
- Graduate student Kate Thomason had six saves for the Terriers and senior Payton Anderson earned a defensive save in the second quarter.
- UNH goalkeeper Abby Johnson made six saves in 53:58 before Kerigan Ross played the remainder to complete the shutout.

- The Terriers will return to action on Friday (Oct. 25) when they visit Lafayette for their final Patriot League contest of the season.
- Game time in Easton, Pennsylvania, is set for 6 p.m.
