BOSTON – No. 14/13 Boston University women's ice hockey (9-3-1, 7-1-1 HE) is prepped for a home-and-home series with Comm Ave. rival No. 11/12 Boston College (8-3-0, 5-1-0 HE) this weekend. The Terriers welcome the Eagles at Agganis Arena on Friday (Nov. 15) for a 6 p.m. game before traveling up the road to Conte Forum on Saturday (Nov. 16) for a 4:30 p.m. tilt.
 
Friday's game will be BU's second to last home game of the semester and the first 500 fans in attendance will receive a rally towel.
 
Tickets for Friday's game at home can be purchased here. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+ with Friday's game also streaming on TSN+ and Saturday's game airing on NESN.
 
TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU wrapped its series with Merrimack with a 5-1 win on the road and a 3-3 tie at home last weekend.
  • Juniors Sydney Healey and Clara Yuhn and sophomore Neely Nicholson powered BU to the 5-1 win while graduate student Lindsay Bochna, junior Luisa Welcke and Nicholson all found the back of the net in the tie.
  • Healey and senior Maggie Hanzel helped BU win the shootout 2-0 on Friday.
  • Senior Christina Vote recorded three assists in the 5-1 win over Merrimack, a career best.
  • BU is No. 14 in the USCHO poll and No. 13 in the USA Hockey poll, marking the first time this season it has been in both polls in the same week.
  • In the series against Merrimack, BU extended its unbeaten streak to nine after its tie against the Warriors.
  • With the 5-1 win at Merrimack last Thursday, BU's eight-game win streak tied its record from the 2013-14 season.
  • The Terriers still remain unbeaten at home.
  • BU is fourth in the NCAA and is second Hockey East in penalty killing percentage (.923).
  • Freshman Lola Reid continues to lead BU in points with 13 and boasts a +/- of +10. She is currently second in Hockey East in points.
  • Reid and Yuhn are tied for the most goals in Hockey East and on the BU squad with seven apiece.
  • Vote owns 12 points this season, all of which are assists. Her points total also surpasses her 2023-24 total (11).
  • Callie Shanahan has 219 saves this season with a save percentage of .944 which is second in the league. Her GAA of 1.33 is first in Hockey East and she is tied for first in shutouts with two.
  • Julia Shaunessy has seven assists and boats a +/- of +9 which ranks second on the BU squad.
  • Giaquinto is eighth in the NCAA and first in the league in power play goals with three.
 
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
  • Boston College is 8-3-0 overall and 5-1-0 in Hockey East play.
  • The Eagles most recently swept their series at Maine, winning in 3-1 and 5-1 results.
  • BC is on a seven-game win streak dating back to a 5-1 win over Holy Cross on Oct. 12.
  • The Eagles notably swept the series against then-No. 3 Clarkson with 3-1 and 4-3 wins at home, respectively.
  • Two of BC's losses came against No. 1 Wisconsin in 7-1 and 7-0 results. BC's only conference loss was to Holy Cross in a 4-1 decision.
  • Sophomore Sammy Taber leads the Eagles and Hockey East in points (14).
 
SERIES HISTORY VS. BOSTON COLLEGE
  • The Terriers are 25-38-8 all-time against Boston College, including an 11-18-2 home record and an 11-15-4 away record.
  • BU most recently defeated BC at Conte Forum 3-0.
  • In the four meetings in 2023-24, including the Beanpot Semifinals, BU went 1-2-1 in the series.
  • The last time BU won at home was on Nov. 21, 2021, in a 5-4 outcome.
