BOSTON – The No. 14/13 Boston University women's ice hockey team (9-4-1, 7-2-1 HE) suffered a 3-2 overtime loss to No. 11/12 Boston College (9-3-0, 6-1-0 HE) on Friday night at Agganis Arena.

After BC went up 1-0 in the first, BU came back to tie the game 1-1 in the second. BC took back the lead briefly before BU tied things up 2-2 which held through the end of the third period. Overtime went in the Eagles' favor as they scored at 1:16 into extra time to defeat the Terriers. Â

BU played in front of a crowd of 2,866 fans, the largest home attendance in BU history. That tops the previous record of 1,891 set at Agganis on Oct. 20, 2012.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- BC opened the scoring 5:35 into the first to take an early 1-0 lead.
- BU was then called for holding and later for a hit from behind but successfully killed both penalties.
- The Terriers went on the power play with 4:28 to go in the opening frame but nothing came of the advantage.
- BC was called for tripping 21 seconds into the second, putting BU on the power play.
- Healey found the back of the net thanks to passes from Shaunessy and graduate student Lindsay Bochna.
- The Eagles evened the score once again just over a minute later.
- BU responded quickly when, at the 3:47 mark, Shaunessy scored from the top of the slot with assists from freshman Kaileigh Quigg and junior Clara Yuhn.
- The Terriers got another power-play chance at the end of the second, but the Eagles killed it off at the beginning of the third.
- BC got its fourth penalty of the night and BU did not make any advances with its extra skater.
- Both teams put pressure on net through the remainder of the frame, yet the game went to overtime.
- Just over a minute into extra time, BC scored its sudden-victory goal and BU fell, 3-2.

- BU outshot BC 31 to 26.
- The Terriers won 36 faceoffs compared to the Eagles' 17.
- BU was 1-for-4 on the power play and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
- Senior Maggie Hanzel and graduate student Tamara Giaquinto each blocked two shots.
- Senior netminder Callie Shanahan made 23 saves in net.
- This marks BU's first loss at home of the season.
