The No. 18 Boston University men's lacrosse team will begin its 11th season on Tuesday when the Terriers travel to Westport, Connecticut to face Saint Joseph's in the "Showdown at Staples." Opening faceoff at Staples High School is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

TERRIER TIDBITS
- This is the Terriers' 11th season at the Division I level, with the program having made its debut in February 2014.
- BU, the two-time defending Patriot League regular-season champion, has made six straight Patriot League tournaments and has reached double-digit wins in four of the last five full seasons.
- For the second straight year and third time in 11 seasons, the Terriers began the year in the top 20 of both major national preseason polls, checking in at No. 18 in the Inside Lacrosse media poll and No. 20 in the USILA coaches poll.
- Graduate students Vince D'Alto, Roy Meyer and Patrick Morrison all earned preseason All-America accolades in 2024.
- Meyer was unanimously selected as the top LSM in the nation, earning first-team honors from Inside Lacrosse, the USILA and USA Lacrosse Magazine.Â
- D'Alto and Morrison both received honorable mention recognition from USA Lacrosse Magazine while Morrison was also honored by Inside Lacrosse.
- Graduate student Louis Perfetto is just two assists away from 100 for his career.
- He also needs three assists to set a new all-time mark for career assists, which is currently at 102.
- D'Alto needs 10 more points to pass the great Timmy Ley as the all-time leading point producer in program history; Ley finished his illustrious career with 215 points.
- Perfetto sits at 181 points and can become the third player in program history to reach the 200-point milestone.
- The Terriers forced 12.07 turnovers per game in 2023, the only team in the country to caused more than 12 turnovers per game.
- BU was the only school to boast four different players with 20 or more caused turnovers last season.
- All four of those standouts will be back in 2024, led by Meyer and his team-high 32 caused turnovers in 2023.
- Morrison collected a career-high 26 caused turnovers last season, junior Trey Brown had a career-best 23 caused turnovers and senior Dane DeGoler notched a career-high 21 caused turnovers.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS
- Saint Joseph's received votes in both major national polls entering the 2024 season after winning the Atlantic 10 regular-season championship and falling short in the conference semifinals last year.
- Senior Carter Page scored a team-high 47 goals last year and also added five assists to pace the Hawks with 52 points.
- Graduate student Matt Bohmer led Saint Joseph's with 23 assists a year ago.
- All-American faceoff specialist Zach Cole graduated; sophomore Conor Trant went 13-for-21 in limited action as a rookie last season.
- Graduate student Patrick Clemens totaled 39 ground balls and led Saint Joseph's with 13 caused turnovers last year.
- Junior goalkeeper Shayne Ryan started seven of the eight games in which he appeared last season, posting an 11.92 goals-against average and a .500 save percentage.
