HAMILTON, N.Y. – The No. 14 Boston University women's ice hockey team fell to No. 8 Colgate in a 3-1 outcome on Friday night at the Class of 1965 Arena.

The Terriers got on the board first, taking a 1-0 lead at the 7:40 mark. Colgate was able to tie the game with 26.4 seconds left in the first before it added a power-play goal in the second to lead 2-1. Both teams went on the power play once throughout the final 20 minutes and BU pulled junior
Mari Pietersen from the posts with 1:42 to go in the third. The Raiders then scored on the empty net to defeat BU, 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Colgate was called for tripping at the 3:31 mark in the first, putting BU on the power play.
- The Terriers did not score with the extra skater advantage.
- After a battle for the puck in the neutral zone, Walsh passed to Bertelson, who took it into the Colgate end and fired off a shot from the right point that gave BU a 1-0 lead.
- BU held that lead until 26.4 left in the first when Colgate evened the score, 1-1.
- The Terriers were called for slashing as the goal happened, and no power-play opportunity was given.
- At 8:17 in the second frame, BU was called for hooking.
- The Terriers were then called for interference as the hooking call was expiring.
- Colgate scored on its second power play opportunity to take a 2-1 lead.
- The Terriers went on the power play with 4:04 to go in the frame but came out of the advantage without a change in score.
- BU went on the power play with 15:45 to play in the third stanza due to a Colgate body checking call but did not capitalize.
- The Terriers went to the box for holding with 6:07 to play and successfully killed the penalty.
- With 1:42 to go in the game, BU pulled Pietersen from the net.
- Colgate scored on the empty net at the 19:18 mark to defeat BU, 3-1.
