December 6, 2025 | Men's Ice Hockey
BOSTON - Sophomores Cole Eiserman and Nick Roukounakis each found the back of the net, but Vermont scored with 21.2 seconds remaining in regulation to escape with a 3-2 win over the No. 18 Boston University men's ice hockey team on Saturday night at Agganis Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont struck first just 4:19 into the proceedings.
- Eiserman leveled the score with 8:29 to play in the opening period when he collected the puck with speed up the left wing and zipped a shot past Aiden Wright (30 saves) for his eighth goal of the campaign.
- BU outshout the Catamounts, 14-4, in the first 20 minutes.
- Vermont took a 2-1 lead late in a second stanza that saw each team generate eight shots on goal apiece.
- Roukounakis made it 2-2 with a great individual effort. Morello did well to keep the play alive at center ice, which is where Roukounakis gathered the puck. He brushed off a check as he took the puck up the right wing and to the net. Wright turned aside Roukounakis' first bid, but the sophomore made no mistake on the second attempt for his third goal of the year.
- Thomas Sinclair was the hero for Vermont, as he parked in front of the net and knocked home a rebound in the final seconds.
- Neither team was whistled for a penalty on Saturday night, marking the first time that happened since BU and Minnesota played a penalty-free contest in the 2024 NCAA Sioux Falls Regional final.
- Eiserman now leads the Terriers with eight goals thanks to his second strike in the past three games.
- Hutson became the first Terrier to reach 20 points with his team-leading 13th assist of the year.
- McCarthy has recorded five assists over his last four games.
- BU will head to Northeastern on Saturday, Dec. 13, for the final game at Matthews Arena, which was the Terriers' home rink prior to Walter Brown Arena opening in 1971.
- Game time is set for 7 p.m.
