AMESBURY, Mass. – Graduate student Tamara Giaquinto and junior Sydney Healey of the No. 14/13 Boston University Ice Hockey Team were named Hockey East All Stars, the league announced Friday. Giaquinto was selected as a first team all-star while Healey was named a third team all-star. This marks the first all-star selection for both Terriers.
Giaquinto's all-star accolade comes on the heels of her being selected as the Hockey East Army ROTC defender of the year. The Terrier captain tallied 17 points off eight goals and nine assists this season with six of her goals coming on the power play. She set career highs in goals, points, power-play goal sand shots this season and has the second-most points of any defender in Hockey East play. Giaquinto also owns 47 blocked shots and is +4.
Healey leads the Terriers in points this season with 21, thanks to 13 goals and eight assists. She has set career highs in each of those categories as well as shots (84) and power-play goals (3). The junior has scored at least one point against eight of nine Hockey East foes this season with a high of five total in games against cross-town rival Northeastern. Healey has blocked 13 shots and is +3 at the end of the regular season.
Giaquinto, Healey and the Terriers will be back in action on Saturday (March 1) for the Hockey East Quarterfinals. Puck drop at Walter Brown Arena is set for 4 p.m.
