BOSTON – The No. 11 Boston University women's ice hockey team (24-11-2, 18-7-2 HE) is prepped to take on No. 9 Clarkson (24-12-2, 13-8-1 ECAC) in the NCAA regional semifinal on Thursday (March 13) in Madison, Wisconsin. Puck drop at La Bahn Arena is set for 8 p.m. ET.
This is BU's seventh NCAA tournament appearance and first since 2015. Should BU defeat Clarkson, it will move on to face No. 1 Wisconsin (35-1-2, 25-1-2 WCHA) in the regional final on Saturday (March 15) at 3 p.m.
THE HOCKEY EAST CHAMPIONS
- BU won the 2025 Hockey East Championship in dramatic fashion with a 3-2 overtime win against Northeastern.
- Graduate student Tamara Giaquinto scored BU's first goal at 4:54 in the first, giving BU a lead for the first time in postseason play. She was assisted by juniors Lilli Welcke and Luisa Welcke.
- Junior Clara Yuhn scored the equalizer that forced the overtime off assists from senior Christina Vote and junior Maeve Kelly.
- Junior Sydney Healey found the back of the net off a rebound at 4:43 in overtime to lift the Terriers to their sixth Hockey East title. Li. Welcke and Kelly assisted on the goal.
- Giaquinto, Healey, junior Riley Walsh and senior Callie Shanahan were named to the All-Tournament Team and Healey was chosen as the Tournament MVP.
- Shanahan made 25 saves in the title game.

- BU is No. 11 in the USCHO and USA Hockey polls this week, its highest ranking of the season.
