No. 11 Terriers Wrap Season With 3-1 Loss to No. 9 Clarkson in NCAA Regional Semifinal

MADISON, Wis. – The No. 11 Boston University women's ice hockey team (24-12-2, 18-7-2 HE) concluded its season with a 3-1 loss to No. 9 Clarkson (25-12-2, 13-8-1 ECAC) in the NCAA NC women's ice hockey regional semifinals on Thursday at La Bahn Arena.

Clarkson scored two goals in the first 5:30 of the game to secure a lead which it never relinquished. After even play through the second frame, BU pulled senior netminder Callie Shanahan from the posts with 4:18 to play in the third. Graduate student Lindsay Bochna helped BU cut into Clarkson's lead 2-1 just 17 seconds later, but BU could not fully complete the comeback. Clarkson added another goal on an empty net with under a minute to play to defeat the Terriers, 3-1.

Senior goaltender Callie Shanahan shook off the early Clarkson goals and kept the Terriers in the game until the very end. She went on to make 27 saves in the loss, stopping the final 25 shots she faced. Graduate student Julia Shaunessy and sophomore Alex Law both assisted on the Bochna goal.

The Terriers' overall record of 24-12-2 is their best since the 2019-20 season. BU, the Hockey East champion, made its seventh trip to the NCAA tournament and its first since 2015.
