Bertelsen Named Hockey East Rookie of the Week
January 19, 2026 | Women's Ice Hockey
AMESBURY, Mass. – Freshman Lexie Bertelsen of the Boston University women's ice hockey team was tabbed with Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week honors, Hockey East announced Monday. She is the co-rookie of the week alongside Holy Cross' Naemi Herzig.
Bertelsen lit the lamp in BU's Beanpot Semifinal game against No. 7 Northeastern for her second goal of the season. Her goal helped the Terriers set the foundation for what would be a thrilling 2-1 overtime win to advance to the Beanpot Championship game for the third year in a row. The freshman was +1 in the contest and both of her goals this season have been the first in a game for BU.
Bertelsen and the Terriers are back in action on Tuesday (Jan. 20) when they take on Harvard in the Beanpot Championship game. Puck drop at TD Garden is set for 7:30 p.m.
