Allieri Earns Second Straight PL Goalkeeper of the Week Award

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Graduate student Michael Allieri of the Boston University men's lacrosse team was named Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Allieri was simply sensational in his first start of the season, making a season-high 12 saves and allowing just two goals in a 13-2 win over Lafayette. Allieri only allowed one 6-on-6 goal, as the other marker was a flukey goalie goal in the third quarter. Lafayette was also held to an 0-for-6 mark on EMOs.
A native of Wellesley, Mass., Allieri has made 23 saves and allowed just five goals over his last 85:22 of work. He was part of a Terrier defense that held the Leopards scoreless for stretches of 29:09 and 26:12 during Saturday's game. He is just the second Patriot League netminder this season to earn back-to-back PL Goalkeeper of the Week accolades.
BU will close out the regular season on Friday night at Holy Cross. Opening faceoff is set for 6 p.m.
