Hockey Goaltender Michel Larocque Earns Titan University/AHCA Second Team All-American Honors
BOSTON -- Boston University goaltender Michel Larocque (Dieppe, New Brunswick) earned Titan University/American Hockey Coaches Association Second Team East All-American honors.
A 1999 Hobey Baker Award finalist, Larocque played in 92.8 percent of the Terriers' minutes this season. A starter in 35 games, Larocque posted a 14-18-3 record with a 3.39 goals against average. He had a personal-best 985 saves for an .895 save percentage.
Larocque recorded 30 or more saves in 15 games, and had a 5-5-2 record with a 2.64 GAA and .922 save percentage against Top-10 ranked teams.
A First Team All-Hockey East selection, Larocque was the Most Valuable Player and Outstanding Goalie at the 1999 Beanpot Hockey Tournament, for which Boston University won for the fifth consecutive year. He was also named to the Mariucci Classic All-Tournament team and was the Hockey East Goalie of the Month for December. In six games, Larocque compiled a 5-1-0 mark, allowing just 15 goals on 203 shots for a .926 save percentage and a 2.50 goals against average.
For his career, Larocque appeared in 97 games and recorded a 57-28-9 record, a .900 save percentage, and 2.84 goals against average.
