BOSTON - Senior Lauren Warman (East Bridgewater, MA) bested a field of 32 competitors to win the 500-meter run by more than three seconds as the Terrier women's track team hosted the Terrier Classic at the B.U. Track and Tennis Center (TTC) on Jan. 24-25 (Fri.-Sat.).
Amidst some of the toughest competition the Terriers will face all season, freshmen Victoria Lopez (Long Island, NY) and Erica Shea (Georgetown, MA) finished in seventh- and eighth-place in the same event, with times of 1:17.32 and 1:17.98, respectively.
Senior Sherida Bird (Prescott, AZ) earned a 16th place finish in the one mile (4:57.93), competing among 78 of the world's finest runners.

The distance trio of junior Julia Nazzer (Wanganuii, NZ), sophomore Mary Kingston (Natick, MA), and junior Dina Mijuskovic (Podstrana, Croatia) paced each other in the 1000-meter run to place sixth, seventh, and eighth, with times of 2:59.86, 3:01.39, and 3:01.90, respectively.
In field events, senior Andrea Stuermer (Saarabruecken, GER) earned a tie for fourth place with Brown's Lauren Contursi in the pole vault (12'1 ¼"), while junior Mary Ellen Bingham (Boston, MA) also earned the fourth slot in the triple jump (37'7 ¾").
The Terriers will host a tri-meet with Providence and Boston College next Friday (Feb. 7).
