MacArthur Named Hockey East Rookie Of The Week

BOSTON, MA-Freshman forward Peter MacArthur, who scored two goals and assisted on three others in Terriers' weekend sweep of UMass/Lowell, has been named the Superskills Hockey Rookie of the Week by Hockey East.
In the 7-2 victory that opened the series on Friday, Nov. 19, MacArthur (Clifton Park, NY) had a goal and two assists, while he came back the next night, in the 5-3 victory, to score a goal and add an assist. Each of his goals came on the power play.
The win was the fourth in a row for the Terriers and seventh in their last eight decisions. Overall, they are 7-3-0 with a 6-1-0 record in the league. Their 12 points currently lead the standings as New Hampshire and Maine are tied for second with 10 points.
This marks the fourth time this season that MacArthur, who currently leads the Terriers in scoring with 6-7-13 in 10 games, has been honored by Hockey East.
Thus far, the highlight was when he was named the Hockey East Superskills Rookie of the Month for October. During the month, he played in all five games and had 4-2-6. He had at least one goal in three of the Terriers' five games and had at least one point in four of the five. His best games were against Michigan (2-0-2) and Providence (1-1-2).
During October, he was the Hockey East Superskills Rookie of the Week after the Terriers' 3-2 win against Providence on Oct. 22, while he was on the Hockey East Honor Roll after assisting on the Terriers' only goal in 5-1 loss to Miami University on Oct. 8 and scoring both goals in the 7-2 loss to Michigan on Oct. 9.
Three other Terriers were also recognized for their play against the River Hawks over the weekend. Each of the three was named to the Honor Roll. They are Chris Bourque (Topsfield, MA), who had 2-1--3 in the 7-2 win on Friday, Nov. 19; Bryan Miller (Wayne, NJ), who had 0-4--4 with a pair of assists in each of the games; and David Van der Gulik (Abbottsford, BC), who had 3-2--5 in the sweep. In each of the games, he scored the game-winner.
