BOSTON - The Boston University men's basketball team shot 52 percent from the field to up-end Binghamton, 79-53, Tuesday evening in Case Gymnasium. Freshman guard/forward John Holland (Bronx, N.Y.) led four Terriers (9-14, 6-5 AE) in double figures with a career-high 25 points on 9-of-14 shooting.

Junior Max Gotzler (Weilheim, Germany) and sophomore Corey Lowe (Newton, Mass.) each added 13 points for BU, while red-shirt junior Matt Wolff (Walpole, Mass.) chipped in 12 points. Lowe (6) and junior Marques Johnson (Hazlet, N.J.) (7) tied their career highs to combine for 13 of BU's 19 assists, and Gotzler was the team's leading rebounder with a personal-best six boards.

Mike Gordon led Binghamton (10-14, 6-6 AE) with 11 points, followed by 10 points apiece from Reggie Fuller and Brandon Herbert.

Fuller scored the Bearcats' first 10 points of the game, and Binghamton took a 13-11 lead on a 3-pointer by Herbert at 14:28 in the first. The Bearcats went on a 9-2 run to take a 22-13 advantage at 11:10 on a Chretien Lukusa free throw. But BU stormed back to within one, 23-22 at 5:28, after Binghamton committed six turnovers in seven possessions. Holland knocked down a pair of free throws and his second 3-pointer to tie the contest at 27 before dropping in a fast-break layup to put BU ahead for good with 1:39 remaining in the first period.

Coming out of the locker room up by three, Boston University strung together an 8-1 rally to get out to a 41-31 lead at 17:10 on a Wolff layup. Lukusa sunk a layup at 14:59 to end a 5:04 Binghamton field goal drought and trim the Terriers' edge to eight, 44-36. However, that was the closest the Bearcats got as BU's advantage did not dip below 10 points the rest of the way. Boston University stretched its lead to 26, when sophomore Tunde Agboola (Springfield, Mass.) laid in a Johnson pass with 52 seconds left in the contest.

The Terriers shot 52.0 percent (26-for-50) for the game and out-rebounded Binghamton, 36-24. BU held the Bearcats to 37.5 percent from the floor - 23.1 percent in the second-half - and forced 15 Binghamton turnovers.

Gordon and reigning America East co-Rookie of the Week Holland were the America East Player of the Game.

BU is on its longest win streak since 2004-05 and hopes to keep it going when the Terriers head up to Vermont to take on the Catamounts on Thursday, Feb. 14 at 8 p.m. on NESN.
