Softball Drops 7-1 Decision to Texas State

HOUSTON, Texas - The Boston University softball team fell to Texas State, 7-1, on Saturday afternoon on the second day of the Marriott Houston Classic. Six different Terriers picked up hits and senior Molly Gallagher homered in the seventh to prevent the shutout. BU falls to 1-2 on the young season and will face Kansas at 4:00 p.m.

Six different Terriers earned hits on the day with Gallagher leading the way with a home run in the seventh. Freshmen April Setterlund and Melanie Delgado picked up their first career hits in the contest.

After giving up six runs in the first inning, BU locked down and held Texas State to one run over the next five frames. Sophomore Megan Currier was charged with the loss in the circle.

First pitch will be at 4:00 against Kansas.
