BOSTON - Freshman outfielder April Setterlund has been named to the 2008 ECAC Division I All-Star Second Team, as announced by the organization Wednesday. She was one of only two rookies to be named to either the first or the second team. Setterlund helped guide the Boston University softball team to a 29-23 overall record and 15-6 America East mark, while making its ninth consecutive conference tournament appearance.

Setterlund, the 2008 America East Rookie of the Year, ranked fourth in the conference in batting (.354), runs scored (34), hits (58) and doubles (12) and the Torrance, Calif., native was one shy of tying a single-season school record for two-baggers. One April 14, she was honored as the AE Rookie of the Week after batting .476 over six games and connecting on 10 hits. In addition, Setterlund was an America East All-Conference First Team honoree and a TPS Louisville Slugger Second Team All-Northeast Region member.
