Ashe led the Terriers with a 30th-place finish

Women Place 21st, Men 23rd at NCAA Northeast Regionals

BOSTON - The Boston University cross country teams competed in the NCAA Northeast Regional Meet at Franklin Park on Saturday afternoon, with the men placing 23rd out of 36 teams and the women finishing 21st of 35.

Eric Ashe was the top finisher on the men's side, placing 30th overall with a time of 32:14 over the 10K course. The next finisher for BU was Ken Haltom, who recorded a time of 34:20, good for 125th place. Peter Gilmore notched a 134th-place finish with a time of 34:36 and David Polgar was next for the Terriers, finishing 163rd in a time of 35:04. James Weider rounded out the BU scorers with a time of 35:09, good for 168th overall.

The women were led by Katie Matthews who turned in a solid time of 23:18 for a 34th-place finish overall. Sarah Mosser recorded a time of 23:55 over the 6K course and placed 66th, while Mariko Takahashi placed 107th with a time of 24:33.

Anna Lukes placed 188th in the race with a 25:55 mark, and Danielle Bowen was the last Terriers to cross the line, notching a time of 26:47 for a 214th-place finish.
