WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Freshmen Chris Connolly and Kieran Millan of the Boston University men's ice hockey team have been named to the 2008-09 Hockey East All-Rookie Team, as announced by the league office on Wednesday. Connolly has tallied 27 points (9g, 18a) this season while Millan has posted an incredible 23-2-3 record in the Terrier goal.

Boston University was the only school to have two players on the seven-member team. The other honorees were Karl Stolery (Merrimack), Gustav Nyquist (Maine), Steve Quailer (Northeastern), Casey Wellman (Massachusetts) and David Vallorani (UMass Lowell).

Connolly scored 19 of his 27 points in league play to rank tied for third among rookies and he tied for first in goals with eight.

The nation's leader in winning percentage, Millan led all Hockey East goaltenders in goals against average in league play at 1.80 and went 15-1-3 in his 19 decisions against conference opponents. Millan also posted a .923 save percentage in Hockey East play.

Both Connolly and Millan will be officially honored on Thursday (March 19) at the league's annual banquet at the Royal Sonesta in Cambridge. The league's all-star teams and major awards will be announced at the banquet.
