BOSTON - With one out in the top of the seventh, the Boston University softball team (25-11) turned a double play to get out of a bases-loaded jam and seal the 3-0 victory over Harvard (19-10) on Thursday afternoon at BU Softball Field. Sophomore hurler Kelley Engman threw her second shutout of the season as she improved to 6-2 in the circle, while classmate April Setterlund broke a scoreless deadlock with the game-winning hit in the bottom of the third inning.

Engman went the distance, surrendering just four hits and striking out two batters. Along with Setterlund, seniors Christy Leath and Nora Militz recorded RBI singles and as a team, BU connected on five hits in the contest.

Setterlund broke the three-inning scoreless deadlock with a single through the right side, as senior Brooke Hudson came home after doubling to center field. In the seventh, Leath tacked on one more with a single to center field that hung long enough for freshman Emily Roesch to come home, and Militz followed up with a single of her own to plate Leath.

The Crimson threatened in the top of the seventh when Engman found herself in a bases-loaded jam with one out; however, the Terriers' stellar defense turned its conference-leading 22nd double play of the season to seal the victory.

The Terriers will travel to Hartford this weekend for a three-game series with the Hawks. The squads will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. and complete the series on Sunday at noon.
