BOSTON - Senior Carlos Strong scored a game-high 23 points and sophomore Jake O'Brien posted his sixth career double-double to lead the Boston University men's basketball team to a 93-51 victory over Binghamton Wednesday night at Agganis Arena. Junior John Holland scored the first seven points of the game, and the Terriers never looked back to improve to 15-12 and 10-5 in conference play.

Earning its largest margin of victory since defeating Hartford by 51 (73-22) back in 2005, the Terriers shot a blistering 34-for-62 (.548), including 9-for-18 from beyond the arc. After posting a career-high 14 rebounds on Saturday against the Hawks, O'Brien finished with 15 points and 11 boards, while Holland had 20 points in just 25 minutes of action.

In what may be his last game in Agganis, senior Tyler Morris tallied 18 points and five assists. His classmate Strong earned BU's America East player of the game honors by scoring 19 or more for the third time in the last four games, while also posting a career-high five steals.

Binghamton's AE player of the game Moussa Camara had a team-high 12 points, while Kyrie Sutton had nine points and six rebounds. The Bearcats (11-17, 6-7 AE) shot 16-for-52 (.308) and only managed one 3-pointer off 16 attempts. They lost the rebound battle, 38-32, and committed 15 turnovers against the Terriers' 12.

Holland started the game with two jumpers and a 3-pointer before O'Brien recorded one of each to cap a 12-2 start for the Terriers in the first three minutes of the contest. Sutton's layup at 9:38 cut Binghamton's deficit to three, 17-14, but the Bearcats would never get any closer.

Ahead 21-16, the Terriers outscored Binghamton, 23-9, in the final eight minutes to enter the locker room with its largest halftime lead of the season, 44-25. O'Brien hit a layup off an assist from Morris with two seconds on the clock to help BU carry the momentum into the second half.

The Terriers jumped out to a 9-0 run capped by Morris' layup at 17:54 to push the lead to 28. They led 65-36 with 13:16 remaining and then went on a 12-0 spurt finished once again by Morris. Driving to the basket following a steal by Strong, he drew a flagrant foul and hit both of his free throws. On the inbounds pass, he then drained a 3-pointer.

With the seventh win in the last nine games against the Bearcats, the Terriers have swept their fifth conference opponent of the season and have also improved their record in the all-time series to 14-5. The previous biggest margin of victory was 26, a 79-53 home win back on Feb. 12, 2008.

Finishing a three-game homestand, BU will next travel to Delaware for an ESPNU BracketBusters pool game. The contest between the two old America East rivals is slated to tip off at 2 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 20).
