Rising junior David Warsofsky of the Boston University men's ice hockey team had his draft rights acquired by the Boston Bruins on Satuday in a trade with the St. Louis Blues. St. Louis, which picked the Terrier defenseman in the fourth round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, received Vladimir Sobotka in the deal.
Warsofsky, who will be an assistant captain for the Terriers this upcoming season, grew up in Marshfield, Mass., as a Bruins fan. Last season, he finished seventh on the team in scoring with 23 points on 12 goals and 11 assists. He tied for the nation lead in shorthanded goals with four.
