STONY BROOK, N.Y. - Red-shirt freshman Chelsea Kehr smashed two grand slams and freshman Holli Floetker drove in five runs as the Boston University softball team (14-8, 2-0 AE) took two from Stony Brook (8-11, 0-2 AE) on Saturday afternoon. The Terriers defeated the Seawolves by a 10-1 margin in the first game and 13-2 in game two.

Kehr was 5-for-8 on the afternoon with eight RBIs, while Floetker batted 3-for-3 with one home run. Also batting above .500 on Saturday was freshman Amy Ekart (4-for-8) and junior Erica Casacci (3-for-6).

The pitching duo of Floetker and sophomore Whitney Tuthill shut down the Seawolves' offense. Floetker improved to 5-2 as she pitched the full five innings, surrendering four hits and one unearned run with four strikeouts. Tuthill (5-4) followed up with an equally impressive performance as she allowed just two runs - one earned - with five strikeouts.

In game one, the Terriers waited until the third inning to find its rhythm when Kehr, senior April Setterlund and red-shirt freshman Jayme Mask took advantage of a fielding error out in right field to come across home plate and take a quick 3-0 lead.

BU exploded in the fourth inning with six runs as Setterlund drew a walk to push junior Kayla Kruper home. In the next at-bat Kehr stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and unleashed a four-run bomb for her first career grand slam. To close out the inning, Ekart smacked a solo home run as the Terriers took a 9-0 lead.

In the fifth, Ekart drove in Casacci to round out the scoring at 10-1.

In game two, the Terriers had their best offensive outing of the year as they scored 13 runs on 13 hits. This time around it only took one inning to put up four runs, highlighted by a three-run single from Ekart.

In the third, Floetker hit a two-run blast and three at-bats later Casacci drove in junior Melanie Delgado. After loading the bases on a handful on hits, Kehr unleashed her second grand slam of the afternoon to give the squad a commanding lead that SBU would be unable to overcome.

In the fourth, the Terriers added two more runs on a bases-loaded walk and a fielder's choice.

The Terriers will close out the three-game series tomorrow afternoon in Stony Brook at 12 p.m.
