Women's Rowing Places Third at Dale England Cup

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - During the third session of the Dale England Cup, the Boston University women's rowing team captured three of four races against Gonzaga to finish third in the point standings on Saturday afternoon. 10th-ranked Michigan State swept Indiana to claim the team title.

BU's varsity eight boat coxed by senior Alex Thornton and stroked by junior Cheryl Copson posted a winning time of 6:47.5 against the Bulldogs, who crossed the finish line at 6:51.3.

The 2V8 boat coxed by junior Kayla Rivers and stroked by senior Mariel Boomgaardt had the largest margin of victory, defeating Gonzaga, 7:02.9 - 7:15.9.

The Terriers will return to action next Saturday (April 9) at the DeWolfe Boathouse to host Yale and Dartmouth with the Class of 1985 Cup on the line.
