All-Region Team | Scholar-Athlete List
BOSTON - Senior Brittany Tovee earned second-team All-New England region honors for the Boston University women's rowing team, the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) announced Tuesday. Sophomore Katrina Lyter, senior Lesley Pepin and sophomore Mia Serabian added more awards for the Terriers by being named to the scholar-athlete squad.
Tovee rowed in the varsity eight boat during the spring season and helped BU claim a victory over then-No. 20 Louisville during the Charles River Challenge. She also helped the Terriers finish third in the Beanpot and Dale England Cup at Indiana.
Graduating with a degree in biology, Pepin received her third consecutive scholar-athlete honor from the CRCA. She rowed in the V8 boat alongside Tovee and sat seven-seat in the Terriers' Kittel Cup victory over Syracuse.
Lyter is majoring in business administration while her classmate Serabian is seeking a psychology degree. They both sat in the varsity four 'a' boat with Serabian coxing the crew to a fourth-place finish in the Petite Final at the Eastern Sprints.
Nominated student-athletes for an all-region team are evaluated on the strength of their team's regional finish, coaches' recommendations and 2,000-meter erg score. Nominees must be eligible student-athletes who have competed in their teams' varsity boat in 75 percent of races this season.
All student-athletes who achieved the criteria described below have been named CRCA National Scholar-Athlete.
