Helping lead the Boston University men's basketball team to a perfect 3-0 mark with 17.0 points and 7.3 assists per game, sophomore D.J. Irving has been named GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.

Named America East Co-Player of the Week on Monday, Irving (Chester, Pa.) and the Terriers handed both Maine and Stony Brook their first conference losses of the year.

The starting point guard started his week with the best game of his career, scoring 23 points and adding 11 assists in BU's 77-68 win at Maine. The points-assists double-double was the Terriers' first since 1998.

Irving then added 11 points and five assists in a 61-55 win over Stony Brook on Saturday. He keyed BU's 14-2 game-opening run with five points and two assists in that stretch and knocked down four clutch free throws at the end to seal the win.

To cap it off, he tallied a team-high 17 points along with six assists, as the Terriers earned their fourth straight with a 70-57 win over Albany at Agganis Arena.

For the week, Irving shot 48.3 percent from the field and 76.9 percent at the charity stripe. He also averaged 2.0 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game.
