After picking up a pair of victories on the mound for the Boston University softball team, sophomore pitcher Holli Floetker has been named GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.
Floetker struck out six Maryland batters and allowed just one hit, as her bid for her first no-hitter of the season was ruined in the fourth inning in BU's 1-0 shutout of Maryland on Saturday. The sophomore also pitched all eight innings of BU's 3-2 triumph over FAMU on Friday and struck out a season-high 11 batters.
Floetker finished the week with 24.0 innings pitched and allowed 15 hits and just three earned runs. She struck out 22 batters during the course of four games.
The Fountain Valley, Calif., native leads the Terriers with a 10-2 record on the mound and a 2.12 ERA. She has held opposing batters to a .225 batting average in 80.0 innings of work.
