After capturing the Council Cup against Northeastern for the first time since 2005, the Boston University women's rowing team's varsity eight boat has been named GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.
Coxed by senior Kayla Rivers and stroked by classmate Cheryl Copson, the V8 boat posted a time of 6:32.1 during the Beanpot Regatta, finishing 6.2 seconds ahead of the defending CAA champion Huskies, who entered the race receiving votes in the latest CRCA/USRowing Coaches' Poll. The Terriers also defeated MIT and Boston College during the race.
Other boat members included freshman Kelly Jackson, junior Caroline Kimberly, junior Gabby Cutler, sophomore Alex Gustafson, sophomore Lynn Ratte, sophomore Mackenzie Wiler and junior Cailey Palmer-Rehorst.
