After recording nine extra-base hits, including six doubles and three home runs, sophomore Brittany Clendenny has been named GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.
Clendenny went 9-for-17 with a .529 batting average while leading BU to a 6-0 record last week. The sophomore led the team with nine hits and nine runs and tied for the team high with seven RBIs. She also boasted a team best 1.412 slugging percentage.
Clendenny went 5-for-6 in BU’s sweep in a doubleheader with Providence on Wednesday with five doubles. In Thursday’s 6-4 win at Boston College, the Gainesville, Va., native posted two home runs.
The highlight of Clendenny’s stellar week came in BU’s 11-1 win over Hartford on Saturday, as she hit her first career grand slam in the bottom of the second inning.
Clendenny is third on the team with 46 hits, including a team-high 14 doubles and seven home runs. She has 23 RBIs on the season and has scored 26 times.
