After driving in the winning run in BU's 4-3 extra-inning win against Iona in the NCAA Softball Regionals, sophomore Amy Ekart has been named GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.

Ekart went 2-for-6 against the Gaels on Saturday. The sophomore scored the game-tying run in the bottom of the ninth after getting on base with a hit to third. Later, with two outs in the bottom of the 13th, Ekart drove the ball up the middle to bring home classmate Chelsea O'Connor and give BU its fourth NCAA victory in its last three tournament appearances.

The Berthoud, Colo., native started 56 games at catcher for the Terriers this season, including all three contests in the NCAA Regionals. She hit .235 for the year with 40 hits, including seven home runs. Ekart was second on the team with 30 RBIs.
