GUANAJUATO, Mexico – Katie Matthews and Allison Barwise, both of the Boston University women’s track & field team, each represented Team USA at the NACAC U-23 Championships from July 6-8.

The two Connecticut natives each produced top-three efforts in their respective events. Matthews (Rocky Hill, Conn.) competed in the 10,000m run and finished third with a time of 36:21.29. Barwise (Orange, Conn.) achieved a height of 1.74m to claim third place in the high jump.

Matthews and Barwise also competed at the U.S. Olympic Trials at the end of June. Matthews completed the 10,000m run in 33:45.22, while Barwise, a two-time All-American in 2012, advanced to the high jump final with a height of 1.79m.
