After recording 23 strikeouts in 19.1 innings and helping lead the Boston University softball team to three victories, senior Whitney Tuthill has been named the GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.

Pitching the final 5.1 innings at Bryant (8-6) and recording complete-game performances at Boston College (7-2) and Sacred Heart (8-0), Tuthill limited opponents to a .192 batting average. She earned a career-high 12 strikeouts against the Pioneers, which marked the most by a Terrier since Cassidi Hardy ('10) one-hit Albany with 12 strikeouts in 2010.

With 322 career strikeouts, Tuthill is now only six behind Brittany Detwiler ('07) for seventh-place all-time in the BU record book. She also has 50 wins, one behind No. 4 record holder Shannon Downey ('93).
