HANOVER, N.H. - Aiming for its first six-win November in 15 years, the top-ranked Boston University men's ice hockey team visits Dartmouth on Sunday (Nov. 30) to close out a stretch of five games in 10 days. Game time at Thompson Arena is set for 4 p.m.
A win on Sunday would allow the Terriers to match last season's win total of 10. BU posted a 5-2 comeback win at home over No. 9 Colgate on Saturday to improve to 9-2-1.
The Terriers and Big Green have played 77 times since first meeting in the 1925-26 season, and BU holds a 44-31-2 (.584) advantage. BU has been dominant in its visits to Thompson Arena, winning eight of the nine meetings there.
After putting together a nine-game unbeaten streak (8-0-1) against the Big Green, the Terriers have lost the two meetings, which were both at Agganis Arena. Last season, Dartmouth scored the game's last three goals to earn a 4-2 win in Boston on Jan. 8.
Dartmouth got back to .500 with a 3-2 home victory over American International on Saturday in its first non-conference game of the year. The Big Green has posted ECAC wins over Union and Brown this season and boasts the seventh-best penalty kill in the nation, operating at a 90.5-percent success rate.
Senior forwards Eric Robinson (4g, 3a) and Tyler Sikura (2g, 5a) are pacing the Big Green offensively with seven points apiece. Junior Brad Schierhorn has added six points (2g, 4a).
Junior James Kruger has earned the start in goal in all seven Dartmouth's games this season and sports a 2.11 goals-against average and an .921 save percentage.
BU freshman Jack Eichel leads the nation in points (21) and plus/minus (+18) and ranks tied for second in assists (13).
Junior linemate Danny O'Regan brings a 10-game point streak into Sunday's tilt and ranks tied for eighth nationally in points with 17 points on eight goals and nine assists. His plus-15 rating trails only Eichel.
The third member of college hockey's top scoring line, junior Ahti Oksanen has five goals over the past five contests since missing a game due to injury.
Freshman goaltender Connor LaCouvee will get his third start on Sunday. He owns a 2.40 goals-against average, a .914 save percentage and a record of 1-0-1.
