BOSTON - The No. 11/12 Boston University men's ice hockey team will close out a four-game homestand when it welcomes Bentley to Agganis Arena on Tuesday (Nov. 24) at 7 p.m.
The Terriers (6-4-2) are coming off their first home loss of the season after splitting a weekend series with then-No. 12 Michigan. BU is now 5-1-1 at Agganis Arena this year.
Bentley (5-4-1) dropped a 3-2 home contest to Rensselaer on Friday after putting together an impressive 5-1-1 record in its previous seven games. The Falcons started that stretch with a home-and-home sweep of Northeastern and also earned two overtime wins at RIT in Atlantic Hockey play.
BU and Bentley have met just once before as the Falcons visited Agganis two seasons ago and came away with a 4-1 victory on Dec. 14, 2013.
The Falcons are paced by a strong top forward line of junior center Max French (7-4--11), senior left wing Andrew Gladiuk (5-4--9) and sophomore right wing Kyle Schmidt (4-7--11). Their top defensive pairing has also contributed to the offense as freshman Tanner Jago (9a) and senior Matt Blomquist (1g, 6a) have combined for 16 points.
Sophomore Jayson Argue has earned two-thirds of the minutes in goal thus far this season for the Falcons and ranks ninth in the nation with a .941 save percentage. Senior Gabe Antoni has also been strong between the pipes, posting a .925 save percentage.
Bentley's power play ranks sixth in the nation, operating at a 25.7-percent success rate (9-of-35), and the team is one of the least penalized in the nation, taking only 3.6 penalties per game.
The Terriers had a six-game unbeaten streak (4-0-2) snapped in their 4-2 setback against the Wolverines on Saturday.
Senior Danny O'Regan continues to lead BU in both points (15) and assists (12) and has 10 points (2g, 8a) in the past seven games. Classmate Ahti Oksanen has a team-high seven goals on a nation-best 61 shots. Those senior wings are centered by freshman Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson, who has 12 points on three goals and nine assists.
Sophomore goaltender Connor LaCouvee has started each of the past seven games and sports a .917 save percentage and a 2.63 goals-against average. Senior Sean Maguire (1-2-0, 3.92, .839) is expected to get the start in net on Tuesday.
