BOSTON - Coming off a two-game road trip, the Boston University men's basketball team returns to Agganis Arena to host Navy on Wednesday with tip-off slated for 7 p.m.

The Terriers (8-13, 4-6 PL) and Midshipmen (8-14, 4-6 PL) enter the contest tied-for-eighth but are only game behind five 5-5 squads that are tied for third.

BU went 11-of-20 from behind the arc to defeat Navy, 70-64, back on Jan. 7 to open the conference schedule 3-0. Since that win, the Terriers are 1-6 with four of the losses coming by five points or less.

TERRIER TIDBITS

• BU ranks tied-for-second in PL-only action in scoring offense at 71.0 ppg, just 0.1 behind leader Lafayette ... However, on the flip side, the Terriers rank ninth in scoring defense at 71.4 ppg, just 0.1 ahead of Army.

• The 63 second-half points on Saturday at Lehigh were just five shy of tying the school record set in 1979 ... BU had 64 points in a win against UMass Lowell in 2013.

• Sophomore Eric Fanning averaged 25.5 ppg and 8.0 rpg while shooting 15-of-23 from the field in two games last week ... He is currently second in the team in scoring at 11.5 ppg.

• Junior John Papale ranks 20th nationally in assist-turnover ratio at 3.0, which is on track to shatter the previous BU record of 2.81 set by James Schwartz during the 1995-96 season ... Papale averages 3.7 apg, seventh-best in the conference ... He also ranks t-8th all-time at BU with 174 made 3-pointers.

• Freshman Cheddi Mosely reached 20+ points for the second time this season with 20 at Lehigh on Saturday ... He ranks 19th in PL-only scoring at 11.5 ppg.

• Junior Nathan Dieudonne remains second in the PL in rebounding at 7.6 rpg ... He is now third on the team in scoring at 10.2 ppg after reaching double figures in each of the last five games.

SCOUTING NAVY

• After opening Patriot League play at 3-1, Navy has dropped four of its last five games and is coming off a 74-65 loss to Lafayette after a dominating 64-54 win over American.

• The Midshipmen have shot over 50 percent in each of their last three games.

• 6-foot-6 guard Worth Smith went 0-of-6 at BU last season before posting 25 points and nine rebounds back on Jan. 7 ... He currently leads Navy at 15.7 ppg and 5.6 rpg.

• 6-foot-0 guard Brandon Venturini went 4-of-8 from 3-point range against BU earlier this season to finish with 14 points ... He is 29 points away from the 1,000-point milestone and has made at least one 3-pointer in 30 straight games.

• 5-foot-10 guard TIlman Dunbar is third in scoring at 8.7 ppg while leading in assists at 3.3 apg ... He's 11th all-time at Navy in career assists and has had five assists in each of the last two games.

• The Terriers return just 26 points and 13 of the 41 recorded rebounds from last season's 55-32 home win vs. Navy.
