RESULTS
The Boston University men's and women's track & field teams continued their outdoor season on Friday, competing at the Stonehill Skyhawk Invitational in Easton, Mass. The men's team finished Friday's competition in 6th place overall while the women's team was 8th.
For the men, sophomore Bruce Greene and freshman Cameron Nurse had strong performances taking first and second place respectively in the men's 100m dash. Greene finished with a time of 11.07 and Nurse was just .03 seconds back with a time of 11.10.
In the men's 1500m run, sophomore Matti Groll finished in third place with a time of 4:01.56 and senior Ben Ravetz was 6th, coming in at 4:04.68.
In the field events, senior Ethan Knight continued his strong season, taking first in the discus throw with a 46.99m (154' 2") effort. Junior James Barnett took fifth in the discus, with a 36.77m (120' 8") mark. In the hammer throw Reuben Horace took the win with a 58.01m (190' 4") toss and Michael Maloof was third with a throw of 49.14m (161' 3").
Other field event highlights included sophomore Jason Biesma winning the men's pole vault, clearing 4.30m (14' 1.25"). Tyler Malone finished 8th place in the long jump at 6.36 meters (20' 10.5"). Junior Young Guang took fifth in the shot put with a 12.91m (42' 4.25") throw while Devon Lattrell was third in the javelin with a 49.63m throw (162' 10").
On the women's side, senior Ashli Tagoai took fifth in the women's 1500m run with a time of 4:45.41 while junior Sophie Jancsurak took 10th place in the 100m hurdles in 15.35 seconds.
In the women's long jump, senior Catherine Sampson took second place with a mark of 5.25m (17' 2.75") and Adrienne Pascucci was 6th with a 5.10m jump (16' 8.75"). Catherine Yu competed in the discus and had a throw of 32.49m (106' 7").
The Terriers will continue their busy weekend of competition at the Penn Relays in Princeton, N.J. on Saturday and Sunday before competing at the Patriot League Championships beginning May 1st.
