BOSTON – Seeking its third-straight win against the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), the Boston University men's basketball team will fly south to NC State for a Saturday afternoon matchup set for 4:30 p.m. The visit to Raleigh will mark BU's first trip to the Tar Heel State since opening the 2005-06 season at then-No. 1 Duke.

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • The Terriers are seeking their first win in North Carolina since pulling out a 73-71 win at UNC Charlotte in 1997 ... Their greatest triumph in the state occurred in 1959 when they beat Navy to reach the NCAA Elite Eight and came up just short to Jerry West-led West Virginia, 86-82.
  • Sixth-year head coach Joe Jones is 2-0 against the ACC at BU with a 75-61 win at Boston College on Dec. 3, 2011 and 83-77 victory at Maryland on Dec. 21, 2013 ... He did go 0-1 as the Columbia head coach vs. NC State with a hard-fought 84-74 loss at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 29, 2004.
  • Besides owning wins against BC and Maryland, Jones led BU to a 78-66 win at South Florida last season, which was the Terriers' last win against a major conference ... BU came up just short this past Wednesday at UConn, 51-49.
  • Following the loss to the Huskies, BU dropped from 67th to 125th in scoring (76.7 ppg) & 28th to 90th in FG% (47.1 FG%).
  • Showcasing BU's depth this season, 11 players have already reached double-figure points in a game with five leading in scoring through seven contests ... All 16 Terriers have hit a FG.
  • Senior Eric Fanning reached 20+ points for the second time this season at UConn with a game-high 21 points and currently leads the team in scoring at 14.9 ppg ... A transfer from Wagner, he has reached the 1,000-point milestone for his career but only needs 102 more to reach 1,000 as a Terrier.
  • Junior Cheddi Mosely is the other Terrier in double-figure scoring at 10.0 ppg, while sophomore Kyle Foreman (7.8 ppg) leads the team in assists at 3.3 apg.
  • BU is on track to have zero men avg. 30+ min in a season for the first time since 2002-03.
  • BU is averaging 8.4 3FGs, up from last year's 8.0 avg ... In all three (road) losses this season, BU shot shot below 30 percent from behind the arc.
  • Defensively, BU is holding opponents to 40.4 FG% (90th-best nationally) with a +4.4 rebound margin (103rd).
  • Highlighted by BU's lone double-double vs. LIU Brooklyn, junior Nick Havener leads BU in rebounding at 7.0 rpg.
SCOUTING NC STATE

  • Abu is also averaging a team-high 7.9 rpg ... 6-foot-7 forward Maverick Rowan had 17 points and nine rebounds in the season opener against Georgia Southern but hasn't played since due to a concussion, but reportedly may be available to play against BU.
