Crimson Invite (Friday) RESULTS | Scarlet & White (Saturday) Schedule
The Boston University men's and women's track & field teams traveled to Harvard on Friday to compete in the Crimson Elite Meet. The Terriers competed against teams from Harvard, Northeastern, URI, George Mason, Jacksonville and Central Florida.
For the women, standout freshman Lovie Burleson continued her impressive string of performances, tying for first in the long jump with a 5.73 meter leap (18' 9.75").
On the track, senior Christy Wood finished with the eighth-fastest time in the 55 meter dash (split from 6 prelims) with a personal-best time of 7.12. Wood also advanced to the finals of the 60 meter dash where she finished eighth with a strong time of 7.67, just .03 off her personal best.
On the men's side, the Terriers were once again led by junior Cameron Williams, who continued his incredible indoor season with a second-place finish in the 60m dash (first among collegians). Williams finished with a personal-best time of 6.84 and missed breaking the Boston University school record by just .04 seconds.
Williams will not have to wait long to get another crack at the school record of 6.80, set way back in 1999 by Johann Jack, as he'll compete in the 60 meter dash on Saturday at the Scarlet and White invitational at the TTC.
Also competing in the 60 meter dash on Friday, junior Justin Flynn finished fifth in the finals with a time of 6.98 while sophomore Jordan Love finished seventh with a time of 7.01, just .03 seconds off his personal best.
In other top performances by the men on Friday, freshman Robie Webster continued his fine rookie season, taking second in the 60m hurdles with a personal-best time time of 8.12.
In the field, senior Reuben Horace took first in the weight throw with a 18.86m (61' 10.5") toss, senior Nikolaos Farmakidis finished second in the pole vault with a 4.75 meter effort (15' 7") and junior David Oluwadara finished fourth in the long jump (6.78m, 22' 3").
Also in the field, senior Ethan Knight took first in the shot put with a 16.90 meter throw (16' 5.3").
The Terriers will have little time to rest as they return to the track Saturday to compete in the Scarlet and White Invitational at the TTC beginning at 11am. For a full schedule of Saturdays action click HERE
