BOSTON - Riding a three-game win streak, the Boston University men's basketball will seek its first sweep of the season at Lafayette on Saturday with action slated to begin at 2 p.m.
The Terriers (13-11, 6-5) have gone 6-2 in the Patriot League since opening the conference slate with three straight losses. Their first PL win that began the turnaround came against the Leopards (5-16, 2-8 PL) back on Jan. 9.
In that contest, BU allowed a season-low 47 points and 28.6 field goal shooting percentage. Now, the Terriers are coming off arguably their best offensive performance of the season in which they shot a season-high 58.1 percent en route to an 83-72 victory against the PL's top defensive team in Navy.
TERRIER TIDBITS
• BU has claimed three straight wins twice during conference play ... In the last three games, the Terriers are averaging 78.0 ppg while shooting 49.7 FG% ... They are also shooting 44.2 3FG% while limiting opponents to just 26.6 3FG%.
• The Terriers are 7-7 on the road this year after going 5-10 last season ... They last finished a season above .500 away from home in 2013-14 with an 11-4 record.
• Sophomore Cheddi Mosely (13.6 ppg) missed the first game against Lafayette due to injury has led BU in scoring during the win streak by shooting 57.1 FG% for a team-high 17.3 ppg ... Senior Nathan Dieudonne (10.5 ppg, 7.7 rpg) has also stepped up averaging 12.3 ppg and team-high 12.7 rpg.
• Freshman Kyle Foreman (9.5 ppg, 4.1 apg) tied a personal best with 17 points on Wednesday at Navy with his last 17-point performance coming at NJIT ... Junior Blaise Mbargorba (3.5 ppg, 2.2 rpg) also had a strong performance, as posted a career-high seven rebounds and five blocks with seven points.
• Senior John Papale (11.9 ppg, 2.8 rpg) drained a career-high eight free throws at Navy to finish with 18 points ... He currently ranks 16th all-time at BU in career points (1,168 pts.) and is tied-for-20th in assists (231 asts.).
• Junior Eric Fanning leads BU in scoring at 14.2 ppg while averaging 4.4 rpg ... In PL action, he ranks tied-for-fourth in scoring at 14.9 ppg.
SCOUTING LAFAYETTE
• The Leopards have lost their last five games with three of them by single-digits, including Wednesday's 84-81 overtime loss to Army West Point.
• Lafayette has proven to be a better team at home with a 3-5 record compared to a 2-8 road mark ... The Leopards own wins over St. Peter's, Penn and Holy Cross, who earlier defeated the Terriers.
• In 10 PL games, Lafayette ranks seventh in scoring offense at 69.5 ppg and last in scoring defense at 76.6 ppg ... The Leopards rank second in 3-point field goal shooting percentage at 37.6 3FG% but last in free throw shooting (66.5 FT%).
• The Leopards feature four men in double-figure scoring ... Nick Lindner averages a team-high 15.3 ppg and 4.3 apg, while Matt Kilnewski averages 13.4 ppg and team-high 5.6 rpg ... Bryce Scott missed the last meeting with BU due to injury and is averaging 12.8 ppg.
SERIES HISTORY
• BU currently owns a 7-6 lead in the series with Lafayette winning the first-ever meeting back in 1948-49 ... The Terriers are 5-2 since joining the PL with a 3-0 sweep in 2014 and 1-2 result in 2015.
• Back on Jan. 9, BU allowed just 11 points on 4-of-29 shooting for a 24-11 halftime advantage ... The Leopards improved their shooting percentage to 44.4 FG% from 13.8 FG% in the first half but, BU kept pace with a nearly identical 44.7 FG% for the 68-47 victory ... Eric Fanning led the way with 22 points, while Havener and Dieudonne tallied 11 rebounds apiece.
• Lafayette was eliminated in the 2014 quarterfinals (91-54) by the Terriers and repaid in kind with an 89-64 victory over BU at home in the 2015 quarters ... The Leopards drained 16 3-pointers and shot 63 percent from the field en route to the PL title and automatic NCAA berth.

• BU will have another opportunity to claim a sweep on Wednesday (Feb. 10) when the Terriers host American at 7 p.m.
• The Terriers have won the last three meetings, including last month's 61-50 road victory ... BU limited the Eagles to 34.7 percent shooting ... Fanning had a team-high 14 points, while Dieudonne posted eight points, 10 rebounds and three steals for the win.
