CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - After leading the Boston University softball team to three wins with a 1.27 ERA, senior Lauren Hynes has been named the Patriot League Corvias Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.

Earning her first career conference weekly award, Hynes finished with 22 strikeouts in 27.2 innings while allowing just six earned runs. She made a total of five appearances, including four starts, and opened the week by holding 2015 NCAA Regional finalist San Diego State to just two runs and three hits in a complete-game effort.

The San Diego, Calif., native later teamed with junior Makinna Akers for a 5-0 shutout over Southern Utah and then pitched six scoreless innings in relief for the 7-3 come-from-behind win over Yale. She also limited UC Riverside to one run to help the Terriers snap the Highlanders' 11-game win streak.

A two-time Patriot League All-Conference honoree, Hynes also helped her own cause by batting .333 with two RBIs.

The Terriers will next host Providence in their home opener Wednesday (March 16) at 4 p.m.
