In its last competition before the Eastern Sprints, the Boston University women's rowing team will travel to Ithaca, N.Y. to take on No. 2 Brown and Cornell on Saturday.

The first race of the day will be the 3V8 at 8:30 a.m. followed by the varsity eight race at 9 a.m. Saturday’s 1V race against Brown will be for the annual Gorton Cup. The Terriers will be trying to win the cup for the first time since 1993 but it will be a tough task. BU fill face Brown’s varsity eight boat that was ranked No. 1 in the country entering last weekend and is now ranked No. 2 behind only California.

Last Sunday, the Terriers took on Dartmouth, Northeastern and UMass on the Charles River. The BU 1V finished 3rd with a time of 6:39.2, ahead of UMass (6:40.3) but behind race-winner Northeastern (6:31.6) and second-place finisher Dartmouth (6:36.9).

After taking on Brown and Cornell this Saturday, the Terriers will next compete when they travel to Worcester, Mass. to race in the Eastern Sprints on May 1st.
