CALGARY, Alta. - Four members of the Boston University women's ice hockey team were invited to Hockey Canada's National Women's Development Team selection camp, as announced on Wednesday.
Rising juniors Victoria Bach, Rebecca Leslie and Savannah Newton will join incoming freshman Alexandra Calderone on the 42-player roster. That group will be split into two teams, Red and White, and participate in several practices and intrasquad games, as well as off-ice dryland training, fitness testing, and classroom sessions during the camp that will take place Aug. 5-14 in Calgary.
The Terrier quartet are aiming to be part of the 23-player squad that will be selected to play for Canada's National Women's Development Team in a three-game series against the United States, Aug. 17-20 in Calgary. BU leads all Hockey East schools and is tied for second among all NCAA institutions with four players that were invited to the camp.
