BOSTON - Besides recording more than 40 rebounds for the second consecutive game, the Boston University men's basketball team held Patriot League preseason favorite Lehigh to just 34.9-percent shooting en route to a 75-61 victory over the Mountain Hawks on Monday afternoon at Case Gym.

TURNING POINT
- Leading by eight with 19:00 left in regulation, sophomore Kyle Foreman sparked a 9-0 spurt with a 3-pointer and free throw, and freshman Tyler Scanlon later added one of his three 3-pointers at 10:02 to extend the lead to 62-39.
- The Mountain Hawks went on a 20-6 run with the help of four 3-pointers to cut the deficit to nine with 3:47 remaining, but the Terriers used four straight points from senior Justin Alston to close out the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Austin Price opened with a 3-pointer to give Lehigh its lone lead of the game, as senior Eric Fanning followed Alston's jumper (17:39) with a layup at 16:01 to put BU ahead for good.
- BU led by nine at halftime, 39-28, thanks to a balanced scoring effort, as seven of the nine Terriers that saw time in the first half scored with five securing at least six points.
- The BU bench outscored Lehigh's reserves, 15-0, in the opening 20 minutes, and the Terriers were also effective from the floor, shooting 47.1 percent in the first half.
- It was more of the same in the second half, with the Terriers using a 13-6 run to take a 52-34 lead just 5:00 into the stanza.
GAME NOTES
- The Terriers are 2-0 in Patriot League play for the third time in four seasons in the conference.
- BU is the first team to have held Lehigh to under 40-percent shooting this season ... The Mountain Hawks entered the contest ranked 18th nationally at 49.5 FG% shooting.
- Two-time PL Player of the Year Tim Kempton was averaging 21.3 ppg and 10.5 rpg before being held to 16 points and eight rebounds ... He scored just four points in the second half.
- With all 10 participants hitting at least one field goal, four BU players reached double figures in scoring, led by Alston's 14 points with freshman Max Mahoney recording a season-high 10 points.
- Scanlon drained three of BU's nine 3-pointers en route to 10 points.
- Alston was one rebound shy of his second consecutive double-double, while Fanning (11 pts.) was two boards shy of his second of the season.
- BU improved to 7-1 at Case Gym this season and 5-3 overall against Lehigh with a 3-1 home mark.
- Despite Lehigh ranking 70th in rebounding margin at +5.0, BU finished with a 41-39 advantage in rebounds.

- Seeking its first road win, BU will leave Massachusetts for two consecutive games, beginning with a Thursday night (Jan. 6) tilt at Navy with a 7 p.m. tip-off.
