LEWISBURG, Pa. – In a battle featuring the top two Patriot League teams, defending regular season champion Bucknell used a late surge to defeat the Boston University men's basketball team, 70-59, on Saturday afternoon at Sojka Pavilion.

THE TURNING POINT
- Trailing 52-46 with 7:44 remaining, Bucknell went on a 10-0 run capped by Kimbal Mackenzie's 3-pointer over a three-minute span in which the Terriers committed two turnovers and missed seven combined field goal and free throw attempts.
- Stephen Brown hit a 3-pointer at 3:13 to push the lead to 59-54, and Zach Thomas flushed a deep trey from the top of the key for a 64-57 advantage with 50 seconds remaining.
THE SETUP
- Down 4-3, the Terriers found senior Justin Alston under the basket for a layup that put BU ahead for the rest of the half.
- Owning a 20-17 lead with 5:38 left in half, junior Eric Johnson hit a jumper and 3-pointer for an eight-point advantage.
- The Terriers entered locker room ahead, 29-22, with the help of 10 steals.
- After Bucknell opened the second half with two free throws, sophomore Kyle Foreman hit one of his season-high three 3-pointers to tie their largest lead of the game (34-26).
- The Bison cut the deficit to two at 13:42 (41-39) and 11:33 (43-41), but the Terriers had a response each time.
- Johnson drained another trey at 10:02 to push BU's lead to 48-42, and senior Justin Alston kept the advantage at six (52-46) with 7:44 remaining on a layup.
GAME NOTES
- Alston went 10-of-17 to reach 20 points for the second time in his career and finished four points shy of his career best set against Holy Cross back in December.
- Besides being the second Terrier to score in double figures (11 pts.), Foreman added seven assists and three of BU's 13 steals.
- Bucknell shot 65.4 percent in the second half to outscore the Terriers, 48-30, and win its fifth straight in the series.
- The Terriers hurt themselves with a 5-of-12 (.417) performance at the line, while the Bison went 18-of-27 (.667).
